Berk Alan is an Istanbul-based film director and writer working across commercials, documentaries, films, digital content and television. He became interested in cinema during his teenage years and took his first steps with short films. He began his career in 2009 as an edit director at Show TV, working on commercials for brands including BP, Bomonti and Sözcü. He transitioned into directing with the TRT documentary series “Derin Pas,” and went on to direct commercials for numerous global and national brands.

In 2019, his first feature film, “Sar Başa,” reached over 264,000 theatrical viewers and was released nationally as well as on digital platforms including Netflix, Amazon Prime, BluTV and Apple TV. In 2021, he directed the three-part documentary “Pascal” for Exxen. His years at Onedio, producing and directing a high volume of digital content, sharpened his instincts for pace and storytelling across formats. A member of the Association of Short Film Directors, Berk Alan has led his own company, Alan Films, as an independent director since 2022.
